A language, role-playing, and activity game centered around philosophy
- In this philosophy game, players take on the roles of famous thinkers and philosophers.
They engage in disputes using quotes and an information card.
- With humor and fun, knowledge is conveyed and philosophy becomes tangible.
- Creatively, players can integrate additional philosophers into the game or even invent new ones.
- The game is widely used in schools and institutions.
How does the game work?
Players embody one of 30 philosophers in formally conducted disputes.
They are equipped with an abstract and 20 quotes from the philosopher. After each dispute, players present their closing arguments and provide a concealed numerical evaluation of the contributions. This evaluation impacts three rankings:
- The Demagogue Ranking – for the total score
- The Scholar Ranking – for the number of disputes won
- The Cynic Ranking – for the number of disputes lost
Whoever wins one of the three rankings wins the game.
A completely new gaming experience
This game involves arguing, evaluating arguments, and strategic maneuvering.
Especially towards the end, the evaluations often turn out differently than expected. The topic may seem challenging, but that is part of the appeal: "Help, how do I say it?"
- A didactically pleasant and practical overview of philosophy.
Its themes are reflected in the rules and design.
- The game teaches precise argumentation and rhetoric in a playful way.
Philosophers become practically tangible.
- Besides being fun, it is also suitable for rhetoric training and management workshops.
